42-year-old taken to hospital, woman arrested and second driver flees scene after serious head-on Malvern crash

A MAN suffered serious injuries in a crash in Malvern this morning.

It happened around 6.50am on Abbey Road and involved a green Ford Kuga and grey Ford Fiesta.

The Kuga was travelling in the direction of Welland and the Fiesta towards Malvern when they collided head-on.

The driver of the Kuga fled the scene on foot and officers are carrying out thorough searches of the area to locate him. He is white, aged late 20s to early 30s, medium build and wearing shorts and a beige t-shirt.




The Fiesta driver, a 42-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and has been taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.


A 28-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in relation to the incident.

Officers want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage of it.

They would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the man fleeing the scene or know where he is.

Officers remained in attendance and Wells Road was closed between the junction of Abbey Road and Peachfield Road.
