50 people lining up new roles after first Malvern Hills District Council jobs match

Malvern Editorial 20th Aug, 2021   0

AROUND 50 job seekers were lined up for potential new roles at the inaugural Malvern Hills District Council jobs match.

The event, run in partnership with Malvern JobCentre, has been hailed a huge success with a waiting list of companies keen to take part in future job match schemes.

Jobs on offer ranged from joinery and catering to healthcare and marketing and job seekers registered their interest in one of the broad role types on offer.

They were then offered interview slots which took place in the Council Chamber, off Avenue Road. Job offers will now be made to successful candidates.

Organisations taking part included the NHS, software and verification system provider D-RisQ, bespoke designer kitchen company Roundhouse, finance group Inksmoor and Jark Recruitment.

The event is part of the council’s commitment to helping tackle the skills shortage affecting companies across the district and to help people into work. There are plans to hold the event again in the autumn.

Coun Daniel Walton, Malvern Hills District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economy and Tourism, said: “We’re delighted with the success of our first job match event and that so many people were able to find work and fill much needed gaps in the district’s workforce.

“We look forward to running more of these events in the future.”
