Barclays' Ledbury to Malvern walk raises more than £26,000 for two children's charities

MORE than £26,000 has been raised for two children’s charities after staff from Barclays embarked on a gruelling walk from Ledbury to Malvern.

Regional teams from the Midlands and the South West of Barclays Business Support, together with many professional contacts, participated in the walk which has raised essential funds for Winston’s Wish and Acorns Chidlren’s Hospice.

The funds will allow Winston’s Wish to continue to support bereaved children and their families after the death of a parent or sibling, through professional therapeutic support and practical advice and guidance to parents, carers and the professionals who support them.

Meanwhile, the money raised will enable Acorns to continue providing vital care, fun and laughter for children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and support for their families.

Judy Langraf, director at Barclays Business Support, said: “The Barclays team together with our professional contacts had a fantastic day traversing 12 miles over the Malvern Hills to support Wish and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

“We are delighted to have raised so much money for these two very worthy charities.

“It’s about giving back our skills, time and energy to support our local communities, so we’re thrilled to have raised this money with their help.”
