WELCOME to my new column and my first since being elected leader of Malvern Hills District Council.
For me communicating with you our residents, parish councils and other partners is key to what we want to achieve as a council and I’ve made it a priority of mine during my time in charge.
The only way we can achieve our goals is by getting closer to you – the people we serve.
That’s why it’s important for me to hear what you are feeling and find out what matters to you within the area you live.
The Worcestershire Viewpoint Survey gives you the chance to have a say on how things are run in your local area.
By sharing your views with us, you will be helping us to decide where we focus our resources and to shape the place you live.
It is a time of significant change for public services and some tough decisions will need to be made which is why it’s vital we know your views when making decisions that affect you.
If you are over 18, I would urge you to take the time to sign up to take part in the survey by visiting www.worcestershire.gov.uk/viewpoint before Friday 12 June.
On a related note, I am looking forward to getting to know our new councillors, and we will soon be having a meeting where we will be looking at our current priorities and refreshing our main strategic objectives for the next four years.
All councillors will be invited and it will be the start of the process to ensure we are focusing our attention, time and money in the right areas.
It is my aim to work hard to deliver fairness, equal opportunities and improved prosperity and well-being for everybody in the district.
That starts with listening and giving careful consideration to what you have to say.
