Efforts stepped up to find missing Worcester parrot last seen in Colwall

EFFORTS have stepped up to find a missing parrot from Worcester which was last sighted in Colwall.

Bijou, an African Grey Parrot, has been missing since April 17 after he flew out the back window of his home on Talavera Road in Norton.

His owners have been searching tirelessly for the 14-year-old parrot which was last seen on the rooftops of The Downs School on Brockhill Road on April 28.

Emma Deal, who helps search for missing and stolen animals, has launched a Twitter campaign (@EmmaSearchForD1) to find Bijou who is recognisable by his grey feathers and bright red tail feathers.

Her appeal has attracted celebrity interest with former Everton goalkeeper Neville Southall, TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher, actor Gary Webster and ex-Blue Peter presenter Sarah Greene retweeting her social media account.

Anyone who finds Bijou have been urged not to pick him up and to throw a blanket or net over him and call his owners on 07882721369.
