A FLOOD warning is in place amidst rising river levels at the Kempsey Yacht Club river gauge as a result of the heavy rainfall.
People are being warned there is a danger of flooding of property, roads and farmland this morning in areas close to the River Severn.
The predicted peak – of 6.4m to 6.8m – will come on Saturday with river levels expected to remain high over the next few days.
The EA’s response staff are checking defences and people are being urged to avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water.
