MALVERN schools are being urged to not miss out on St John Ambulance’s Big First Aid Lesson.

The event is a free, one-hour, online session hosted by television presenter Claudia Winkleman and will be streamed into classrooms on June 12.

In total, 11 schools across Hereford and Worcestershire have already signed up.

The lesson will combine first aid training and 999 scenarios with real life stories and will offer plenty of opportunities for pupils to join the conversation via Google Hangouts. It is aimed at students between seven and 16 years old.

Rachael Huff, from Welland Primary School in Worcester, said: “We believe the children in the school will really benefit from this training and hope it will inspire some children to have a future career in medicine.”
