GIN LOVERS will be in for a treat when a festival dedicated to the popular spirit takes place.
The Great Malvern Gin Festival is free to enter and takes place from October 6 to 8.
There are nine popular venues signed up to take part with more than 100 gins available to test out – from the classic tastes to the weird and wonderful.
While people are enjoying their tipple, there will be live music and an opportunity to talk to the experts.
Special gin cocktails will be available to sample during the weekend.
For the dedicated drivers and non-gin lovers there will be plenty of non-alcoholic drinks to try as well.
Among the venues hosting the festival are The Fig, The Great Malvern Hotel, Malvern Cellar, Malvern Lounge, Bar Limon, The Water Cure, Faun, Weavers and The Red Lion.
Malvern Cellar will not only be offering cocktails throughout the festival, people can quiz experts Angus and Lewis about 90 gins they can showcase.
Special guests and experts from Malvern Gin will also be in Malvern Cellar between 12pm and 4pm on the Saturday where people can sample local gins made from Hollywell Malvern Spring Water.
Roaming musicians will include Julia Palmer Price and Mark Leedham. The full schedule will be announced nearer the time.
Trail maps will be available to download from the website or will be available in participating venues.
The event is part of the council’s ambition to increase the number of events across the district to generate footfall and support businesses as part of the new Town Centre Plans.
Coun Daniel Walton, Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Tourism at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “Following a successful festival last year, fans of gin will again be able to enjoy three days dedicated to it.
“There will be so much to choose from throughout the weekend as well as live entertainment to enjoy.
“We hope this provides a welcome boost to our hospitality businesses.
“We want people to enjoy themselves but please do so responsibly.”
