THE LONG wait for GCSE results was over for Hanley Castle High School students last Thursday.
A total of 86 per cent of students achieved a grade 4 or higher in English and English Literature.
Nearly a quarter of grades awarded in English were at grades 7,8 or 9 with 32 per cent achieving this in English Literature.
In total, 73 per cent of students gained passes in English and Mathematics while 42 per cent achieved the English Baccalaureate, a grade four or higher in English, Mathematics, the sciences, a humanities subject and a foreign language.
