High Sheriff of Worcestershire officially unveils new Malvern retirement village

A NEW Malvern retirement village was officially opened at a VIP reception attended by the High Sheriff of Worcestershire.

Cassian Roberts joined members of the community for the unveiling of Audley Ellerslie off Abbey Road.

The village is home to 101 apartments and cottages for the over 60s, all built to complement the Victorian architecture.

Cassian Roberts, High Sheriff of Worcestershire, said: “It was an honour to officially open Ellerslie. It’s fantastic to see the community coming together – especially in such a gorgeous setting.

“The facilities are of the highest quality, and so is the care. I truly believe this is the future of retirement and it’s easy to see the appeal in downsizing when the offering is so strong.”

Nick Sanderson, chief executive of Audley Group, added: “We were thrilled to be celebrating the opening of Audley Ellerslie to our new owners and the surrounding community.

“The beautiful setting couldn’t be more idyllic, and it was a proud moment for us.

“For those wanting to downsize into a smaller property, retirement villages allow them to make the most of their independence with the knowledge care is there should their health needs change.

“We need far more inspirational retirement properties as our population ages, and these should be homes their owners can be proud of.”
