IT was celebration time at Malvern College as its Green Giving Day fundraiser scooped a top national award.
The Green Giving Day, which raised £134,764 to kick start the College’s Green Fund, has been named the ‘Schools’ Fundraising Campaign of the Year’ at the Institute of Development Professionals in Education (IDPE) Development Awards.
Cash raised will be used by the college to reduce its carbon footprint, preserve its heritage buildings, and make learning environments sustainable for future generations.
The college will be looking to raise more funds through a second Green Giving Day next November.
A college spokesperson said: “This Award means an enormous amount to us as it recognises the incredible hard work of everyone involved in our Green Giving Day and Malvern College’s vision for a Net Zero campus.”
“We couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved through our first Green Giving Day and we are so grateful to everyone who voted for our Green Giving Day.”
