MALVERN Hills District Council employee Nicky Stevens will embark on a 100km five-day trek on the Pembrokeshire coastline to raise money for national breast cancer charity CoppaFeel.
Nicky undertake the task between June 11 and 17 in aid of the charity, which is the first in the UK to solely raise awareness among young people.
The journey will be guided by podcaster, author and I’m a Celebrity winner Giovanna Fletcher.
She was one of 100 ladies to be selected to join CoppaFeel’s mission from over 1,000 applicants.
In order to take on the challenge, Nicky needs to raise £2,250 for CoppaFeel.
Nicky, who is community development officer at the district council, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, resulting in a year of chemotherapy and hospital visits.
She said her experience having cancer had given her a new perspective on life.
“After my entire life was turned upside-down, I knew I needed to come out the other end stronger for myself and for my daughters.
“It has been five years since my cancer journey and I want to acknowledge this and raise funds for a very special charity to me.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I am really looking forward to trekking with a team of amazing women.”
