THE MALVERN Joggers are hosting a 12-hour charity relay run up The Worcestershire Beacon to raise funds for the people of Ukraine.

The club is hoping as many people as possible will take part in the event on March 26.

At 425m, the Worcestershire Beacon in the Malvern Hills is the highest point until the Ural Mountains in Russia looking east.

The club said it seemed very poignant to see the Ukrainian flag flying in support in the face of the humanitarian disaster.

The Joggers are aiming to have a stream of yellow and blue flags up and down the Beacon for 12 hours in support of those affected.

People can sign up on the Joggers’ website and proceeds will all go to charity to help those in need.

The event starts at 8am and runners will set off every 15 minutes. There will be also be a charity cake sale also on the day.

The route is from the Unicorn pub (2 Belle Vue Terrace, Malvern) to the top of the Worcestershire Beacon and back down again.

Everyone is welcome to the event which will see people run, walk or even dance the 2.5mile route.

People are also urged to bake cakes for the sale to boost coffers further.

All the cash collected will go to the DEC – UKraine appeal.
