Malvern mum's last-ditch plea for help funding life-saving treatment

A DESPERATE Malvern mum has launched a last-ditch plea to raise money for life-saving treatment in a bid to see her children grow up after being told she has two months to live.

Brave Lauren Maddock has fought against triple negative stage three breast cancer but has been handed the devastating news she has exhausted all NHS treatment options.

The courageous mum of two, together with a large group of caring friends, has been trying to find £50,000 for pioneering therapy in Mexico.

In order to have any chance of success, Lauren needs to be in Mexico in two weeks to begin treatment to give her body any chance of fighting the cruel illness.

In November 2019, Lauren then aged 26 was diagnosed with grade 3 stage 3 triple negative breast cancer.

She started treatment straight away with six rounds of chemotherapy planned. When they were administering the fourth round, this began to affect her heart function and, consequently, was forced to stop.

At this point Lauren underwent four operations, a double mastectomy and had numerous lymph nodes removed.

Unfortunately, the cancer then returned in surrounding lymph nodes and therefore underwent a fifth operation.

At this point Lauren began to do everything she could to return to full health, focusing on fitness and nutrition.

Unfortunately the cancer returned and the 28-year-old was initially told she had six months to live but a further test has revealed the devastating verdict for seven-year-old Penny and four-year-old Arthur’s mum.

She made the desperate plea for help in an emotional Facebook post which saw her reveal her fears of leaving behind her beloved children.

“I need life-saving treatment for incurable metastatic triple negative cancer which had spread rapidly,” she wrote.

“This is a matter of urgency, please do not ignore this.

“We shouldn’t be arranging funerals for a 28-year-old single mum because money couldn’t be raised to save her life.

“There’s enough money in this world to ensure I can be a mum to Penny and Arthur, I’ve exhausted myself trying to find alternatives and supplements, etc.

“Please, I am desperate. I don’t want anyone else to be the comforting arms for my children telling them mummy’s dead. Please help save my life.

Lauren took to the skies last month and jumped out of two planes to fund potentially life-saving treatment.
