PHOTOGRAPHER Tarquin Shaw-Young took these stunning pictures to mark the Summer Solstice.
The images were taken on the Malvern Hills to showcase the longest day of the year.
The word ‘Solstice’ comes from the Latin words sol, meaning Sun and sistere which means to ‘stand still’.
Some astronomers and scientists use the June Solstice (as it is also known) to mark the real start of summer. It falls when the sun is at its farthest point from the Earth.
