THE WEEKEND started early for Malvern Triathlon Club with members Vikki Sivertsen and Janet Adsett taking part in the Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay on the Worcestershire Beacon.
On Saturday, up-and-coming member Neil Bird completed the Cotswolds Lake 62 Triathlon.
Neil found the 1,500m non-wetsuit open water swim a challenge but recovered well on the bike and run sections.
Henry Walker and new member Pete Rochford crossed the border for the Monmouth Challenge Aquathlon, a 2km swim in the River Wye, followed by a 12.5km run with Henry finishing second overall.
Chris Grubb finished fourth in age category at Outlaw Nottingham – a 2.4mile swim, 112mile bike leg and 26mile run – in a time of nine hours 50 minutes.
