A WOMAN from Malvern has been handed a suspended prison sentence after deliberately and repeatedly ramming her car into another vehicle and the front of a house.
Joanne Lydnsey Greenhill, 39, of Strothers Avenue, Malvern appeared at Worcester Crown Court last Wednesday (October 16) charged with two counts of criminal damage and one count of dangerous driving.
On the morning of February 29, Joanne drove her car multiple times into another car and the front of a house on Swinyard Road in Malvern.
No one was injured during the incident, but the road was closed whilst emergency services made the property safe.
For the first charge of criminal damage to property valued over £5000, Greenhill was handed a nine month prison suspended for 12 months, and ordered to pay back £1909 in compensation plus £187 victim surcharge to the homeowner.
For the second charge of criminal damage to property valued under £5000, Greenhill was handed a two month prison sentence suspended for 12 months, to run concurrently to the first suspended sentence.
She was also handed another nine month prison sentence suspended for 12 months, to run concurrently to the first two sentences for the third charge of driving a motor vehicle dangerously.
The judge also handed Greenhill a 12 month driving ban and 25 days of rehabilitation activity.
PC Steras said: “As well as the deliberate damage to a house and a car, with significant financial implications, this incident caused disruption and concern in the community at the time.
“This is a positive result in court, with Greenhill having the opportunity to rehabilitate and pay compensation to the victim, as well as being removed from the roads.”
