Malvern workers shave their hair for charity

Malvern Editorial 10th Aug, 2015 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

IT WAS a close shave for a group of Malvern workers who had their hair cut off for a worthwhile cause.

Four members of staff from Malvern Splash and Tenbury Swimming Pool got involved in the fund-raiser to support Macmillan Cancer Support.

Ian Bonsall, Malvern Splash centre manager, Mike Willetts, front of house manager, Sheila Jones, finance and administration manger, and Rob Tyler, Tenbury Swimming Pool centre manager, all took part.

It was done in memory of Ian’s mother and Sheila’s father, who both lost their battles with cancer.

David Pugh, area manager of Freedom Leisure – who run the centres – said: “It is great to see our staff raising money for such a worthy cause, particularly as it means a great deal to our team members who have suffered a personal loss from this disease.

“I am sure many of us know someone who has suffered from cancer and we hope by taking part in this event we have raised enough attention and funds to help those living with the disease.”
