THE INTREPID Team Zulu completed their 12th consecutive and final Worcestershire Way walk last Saturday.
Members battled the 30°C heat as they trekked the 34 miles in one day – the equivalent to a fifth if the ascent of Mount Everest.
They were joined by 117 other walkers
Since Team Zulu began back in 2011 when Tarquin did the walk on his own they have had over 30 members join the team.
Collectively, in the last decade, they have walked the length of the UK and back again for St Richard’s Hospice raising in excess of £40K.
The team was also the subject of a Ramblings Special for BBC Radio 4 with Clare Balding who walked with them, have had two beers named after them and created 12 films shot on location during the walk to document the event.
After 12 years the team will now focus on other challenges which will continue to raise vital funds for St Richard’s Hospice which they will announce this year.
The fund-raising page is still open – anyone wanting to boost it can visit justgiving.com/fundraising/TeamZulu2022 to donate.
