THIRTEEN teams of golfers joined St Richard’s Hospice on the fairway for a fund-raising golf day in Malvern.
Held at The Worcestershire Golf Club for the second year running on Friday, April 28, the event raised more than £4,000.
Participants arrived at 11.00am for the varied and, at times, challenging 18-hole round.
Awards were given to the first three teams as well as the team with the longest drive and nearest the pin.
The day concluded with a two course dinner, prize giving, a raffle and a charity auction.
The overall winning team was from Evesham-based chartered accountants and business advisers Clement Rabjohns with Paul Emsley, team captain, proudly receiving the accolade after many years of supporting the event.
Rachel Jones, fund-raising manager at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “We would like to say a big thankyou to everyone who joined us for what was undoubtedly a really fun day.
“Happily, the weather was kind to us, feedback from those who attended was really positive and we managed to raise a fabulous amount of money for our care.
“We would also like to thank, as ever, our team of hospice volunteers for their excellent golfing knowledge and for all their help on the day.”
The event was sponsored by Santander for the second year running.
