WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Dame Harriett Baldwin has welcomed a plan to help entrepreneurs create new jobs and growth in Malvern, writes Mia Whitehouse.

The MP met with the chief executive of Malvern Hills Science Park, Alan White, recently to hear about plans to support companies to thrive and grow in the town.

Conversations also centred around a more long-term plan to add extra capacity to the park to support businesses of all sizes.

Mr White said: “I am very grateful to Harriett.

“She has strongly promoted our work at the science park, supporting the delivery of our new developments, and helping us attract more businesses to the site.”

A boost in requests for space at the popular science park has been down to more business people choosing to base their operations at the heart of Malvern.

This is due to the delivery of the dual carriageway Southern Link Road by Worcestershire County Council enabling easier car journeys to and from the M5, making sites like Malvern Hill Science Park much more attractive.

Dame Harriett said: “Malvern Hills Science Park has been quietly supporting businesses to thrive and it has been the secret weapon of the Worcestershire County Council’s economic growth plan.

“Working with a Conservative administration at the County Council, I’ve witnessed significant growth ever since I was first elected to the MP for West Worcestershire in 2010 with the science park sitting at the heart of the strategy.

“Alan white has done an amazing job ushering in two entire new blocks on the site and dovetailing into a strong local growth strategy.

“There are more exciting plans on the table, and I took the opportunity to thank Alan and his team for the great work they are doing to secure economic confidence for the whole county.”
