RESIDENTS in Worcestershire are being urged to nominate county charities to put them in with a chance of winning £1,000 for the cause.
The Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards is back and, now in its sixth year, has £1million to give away across the UK and Ireland.
The latest tranche of funding became available on Monday and winners will be drawn at random to receive £1,000 each time. The organisation said the more times the charity had been nominated, the more chance they had of scooping the cash.
The Movement for Good Awards has donated over £5million to charities in the UK and Ireland since they started in 2019.
The Farm Animal Sanctuary, which provides a safe haven for neglected and abused farm animals, and Libby Mae’s Little Angels, a charity offering necessary medical equipment to look after babies on neonatal units, are among the Worcestershire causes to have benefited, thanks to them being nominated.
Mark Hews, the Benefact Group’s chief executive, said: “Benefact Group is a family of award-winning specialist financial services companies and the third largest corporate donor to charity in the UK.
“Owned by a charity ourselves, charitable giving is at the heart of what we do.
“All of our available profits go to good causes and the more the group grows, the more the group can give.”
He added they were delighted to be able to donate more than £1million to good causes each year, through Movement for Good, and thanked all the group’s supporters including the customers of the trusted insurer, Ecclesiastical, and the responsible and sustainable asset manager, EdenTree.”
