A GUNMAN driving in a white BMW 3 Series is being sought after a spate of criminal damage on the roads around south Worcestershire.

West Mercia Police received a number of reports of criminal damage on roads around Worcester between 4.30pm and 5pm yesterday (Monday)

At about 4.30pm a vehicle window was smashed while driving on the A449 between Ombersley and Claines.

Shortly after officers received reports a shop window on Deansway in Worcester had been shot at by what is believed to have been a pellet gun. A small ball bearing was later found inside the shop.

Around 4.50pm, police then received reports of vehicle windows being shattered while driving on the M5 between junctions five and seven.

The incidents are being linked and it’s thought those responsible for the damage were in a white BMW 3 series, officers are carrying out enquiries to locate the vehicle.

Det Sgt Luke Papps said: “Thankfully, no-one was injured during these incidents but I understand the concern caused to the local community and want to reassure local residents we are working to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”

“These incidents took place at a busy time on main roads in Worcestershire so there are likely to be people who witnessed them or have dash cam footage.

“I urge people to check CCTV or dash cam for footage which may have captured something which will help with the investigation and help us find those responsible.”
