PEOPLE across Malvern Hills district are being urged to have their say on town centres to help forge their futures, writes Amy Ford.

Barnards Green, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Tenbury Wells and Upton upon Severn are set to undergo town centre transformations starting next year and the council requires the public’s help via an online consultation.

Business owners, town centre traders, residents and visitors are invited to share their views.

Young people are also encouraged to complete the questionnaire which asks participants how they currently use their high street and what could be improved now and in the future. The feedback will identify individual difficulties and offer more opportunities for retail on the high street.

The Five Year Plan is aimed at revitalising town centres to aid retail businesses amidst the challenges they face, such as the rise of online competitors.

People’s views on the matter are crucial as they will influence which areas need transforming and in what particular ways. More than 900 residents have already completed the consultation and the council is hoping for a lot more

The results will be published in January and work is planned to start in the spring.

Visit letstalk.malvernhills.gov.uk/towncentres to take part before the December 31 deadline.
