Police and trading standards track down rogue traders and Nottingham Knockers operating in Malvern and Upton

Malvern Editorial 26th Jun, 2021   0

POLICE have been tracking down rogue traders and Nottingham Knockers operating in Upton and Malvern.

It was a joint operation between Malvern Police Safer Neighbourhood Team, Malvern Hills District Council Community Services and Worcestershire Trading Standards.

Several people were spoken to by officers and advice was given about the importance of having a pedlars licence.

If people buy goods from untrustworthy vendors, they are often unable to exchange them or get a refund if they are found to be faulty.

Police have issued the following advice –

  • You don’t have to open the door
  • Traders selling door to door MUST have a pedlar’s certificate
  • Don’t be intimidated into buying anything – you have a right to say ‘no’.

Suspicious activity should be reported by calling 101 or 999 if it is an emergency.
