YOUNGSTERS joined forces with police to help clean up the town’s streets.

Malvern Vale Youth Club went along with members of Malvern Safer Neighbourhood Team, Fortis Living and Malvern Vale Community Centre for a litter pick last Wednesday (July 22).

Police mascot Peeler the Dog also attended. Malvern Vale’s children’s play park and community centre were targeted as part of the event.

PCSO Helen Carstairs, Link and Dyson SNT, said: “After speaking with some of the youngsters who use the children’s play park and the youth club, we came up with the plan to make a difference in the community by way of a litter pick, encouraging everyone to keep the areas in which they live and play tidy.

“It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm in the children, particularly when Peeler the Dog came armed with a litter picker.

“The youngsters were treated with a barbecue and entertainment hosted by Malvern Vale Community Centre who worked hard to ensure this joint event was a success.”
