A RAIDER was forced to flee empty-handed following an attempted shop robbery in Malvern yesterday.
A man wearing a long coat with the hood up and a scarf wrapped around his face, entered the shop in Pickersleigh Road at 11pm.
He approached the till and asked for cigarettes and a bottle of alcohol but when he was asked to pay he demanded the till be opened.
Other customers inside the shop noticed what was happening and challenged the man who has then ran out of the store.
Det Sgt Ed Jones said: “Fortunately, nobody was injured but staff and customers inside the shop were left badly shaken.”
He added enquiries were ongoing to trace the man responsible.
And he said anyone who saw the people either before or after the attempted robbery took place, or anyone with any information about the incident should call police on 101 quoting incident 768s of 250120.”
