ABOUT 2,000 visitors flocked to the Great Malvern Food Festival on Bank Holiday Monday.

The event, organised by Malvern Hills District Council and supported by Boffy Arts Markets, took place in the grounds of Great Malvern Priory Church yesterday.

More than 60 stalls packed the site, offering a range of food and drink produced in the town and surrounding area.

Also on offer for visitors was a lively performance from the Rock Choir and a DIY pizza party with Matthew Lloyd from The Fabulous Cob Oven.

Chefs Matt Slocombe and Lizzy Hughes also demonstrated some mouth-watering recipes.

The Malvern Munch food walk also took place over the Bank Holiday weekend.

More than 100 walkers and volunteers enjoyed a leisurely seven-mile stroll over the Malvern Hills on Sunday.

Malcolm Salisbury, economic development officer at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “The event was a fantastic success, everyone had a brilliant time trying a whole variety of foods and watching cooking demonstrations.

“We are delighted with the turnout, it’s great for the town and local businesses.”
