Ruth and Kate lift the lid on The Cake Tin

A NEW café has opened in one of the town’s popular community centres.

The Cake Tin welcomed its first customers to the revamped space inside the Malvern Cube last Monday (April 14).

Friends Ruth Hallam and Kate Stevenson who are behind the new venture, have had to work hard in recent weeks using their weekends to completely refurbish the area at the heart of the community centre.

It is hoped the café, which will be open weekdays from 9.30am to 3pm, will not only serve the many existing groups at the Cube, but help bring in new visitors to the Albert Road North venue to see what it has to offer.

The seasonal menu will always have something new alongside a wide range of vegetarian and vegan choice as well as gluten free options. All dishes are home made with locally sourced ingrediants.

Ruth said: “The first week has been very good, it has been really busy and there have already been new faces coming to the centre who might not have come here before.

“Everyone has been really supportive in the last few weeks helping us to paint and decorate, and all the groups have really embraced the fact there is now somewhere they can sit and enjoy a drink and something to eat after they have finished what they were doing.

“We would like to thank everyone for being really supportive so far.”

Visitors can check at the menu at www.thecaketinmalvern.com where there is also a space to make suggestions.
