A KEEN Worcester Warriors rugby fan from Malvern was delighted by a surprise visit to see her in St Richard’s Hospice by player Ethan Waller.

Margaret Morgan had been chatting to one of the hospice doctors where she is being cared for at St Richard’s in Worcester and mentioned being a big Warriors fan.

The hospice team then arranged the festive surprise and the loosehead prop dropped by to the delight of Margaret and her husband Cliff.

Mrs Morgan, who has cancer, is being cared for in the hospice In-patient Unit.

The couple have been long-term fans of the Warriors, even inspiring them to move to Malvern in 2010 to be nearer the team.

Mr Morgan said, “Margaret loved the visit from Ethan, she was beaming! He was lovely, staying and chatting to us for some time. Margaret is a very enthusiastic supporter and we have been fans for many years.”

Mr Morgan added that another of his wife’s favourite hobbies is gardening and that she had enjoyed looking out of the windows of her hospice bedroom onto the grounds and pond and seeing the wildlife.

“You can’t fault this place,” he said. “Nothing has been too much trouble.”

The hospice’s chief executive June Patel added: “We are very grateful to the Worcester Warriors for their support and to Ethan for coming to visit Margaret and making her feel so special.”
