Swimmers look to cause a splash with Channel challenge

A MALVERN leisure centre is set to cause a splash after urging people to swim the length of the English Channel for charity.

Bosses at Malvern Splash and Tenbury Swimming Pool, operated by Freedom Leisure, are encouraging people to complete the 22 miles in aid of spinal cord charity Aspire.

The challenge, which is open to all ages, has to be completed by December 7 and can be done individually or as part of a team.

David Pugh, Freedom Leisure area manager, said: “We are proud to be supporting this event.

“Aspire does such great work and this is a fantastic way to give back to those in need.

“It is not every day someone can say they swam the width of the English Channel and I would highly encourage our local community to take part.”
