THERE were plenty of tasty treats as a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event was held at a Malvern retirement village in Malvern, raising more than £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The town complex was one of 13 of Audley Village venues taking part in the annual event across the country, taking the overall grand fund-raising total to £4,465.
Audley Ellerslie’s socially distanced coffee morning featured a range of baked creations for sale to collect the cash for the worthwhile cause.
Paul Morgan, Audley Group’s managing director of development, said: “While events were different this year, it’s fantastic to see owners coming together in such unusual circumstances.
I was impressed with the total raised for this important cause.
“The effort from our team members that went into hosting the events is commendable, and the money raised is testament to the success of the morning.
“We hope to continue hosting charity events, following government guidelines, at all of our villages.”
Audley Ellerslie consists of 101 apartments and cottages for over 60s.
The village centred around a Grade II listed building is home to the Audley Club, offering luxury facilities including a swimming pool, library, restaurant, bar/bistro and spa.
