The Rise and Fall of Little Voice heading to Malvern Theatres

Malvern Editorial 2nd Sep, 2021   0

THE STORY of a woman with a hidden talent is heading to Malvern Theatres from Monday to next Saturday, September 6 to 11.

The Rise and Fall of Little Voice by English playwright Jim Cartwright will be performed by the Malvern Theatre Players.

It centres on ‘Little Voice’ who spends a lot of time alone in her room with only her dead father’s record collection for company.

She sings along beautifully with the greatest divas of the 20th century with a voice that is pure gold.

Downstairs, her hard-drinking mother Mari, is on the rampage – wanting only alcohol and a telephone line that works.

When her latest squeeze, talent spotter Ray, overhears LV’s secret talent, he realises she may be his ticket to the big time.

But LV is painfully shy and she will need to conquer more than her stage-fright if she’s going to find her own voice in the world.

The northern comedy is packed with sensational tunes, bold humour and a gentle heart.

Curtain up at 7.30am each evening and 2.30pm for the Saturday matinee.

Tickets are £14 (including booking fee) by emailing [email protected] or by calling 01684 892277.
