THE MAN behind some of the best Sunday roast dinners in the UK is set to demonstrate his talent’s at this year’s Great Malvern Food Festival.

Chef Matt Slocombe will be cooking up some tasty treats at the free annual event which takes place on Bank Holiday Monday (May 29) from 10am to 5.30pm in the grounds of Great Malvern Priory Church.

There will also be the chance for younger visitors to have a go at making their own pizzas with Matthew Lloyd from The Fabulous Cob Oven Company.

More than 60 stalls will also be offering the finest produce from the area including home-made fudge and sweet crepes to Mexican and Caribbean food.

Entertainment will be provided by Malvern Rock Choir, jazz band Second Line and Mark Abbott who will be juggling fruit, onions and eggs while balancing a baguette on the end of his nose.

Malcolm Salisbury, economic development officer at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “This year’s food festival promises to be bigger and better than ever and is a fantastic showcase of the local produce available in our area.

“I’d urge people to come and discover some of the mouthwatering morsels available.”

The seven-mile walk over and around the Malvern Hills offers walkers the chance to taste local food and drink while listening to live music at stops along the way.
