EMERGENCY services and highways officers were kept overnight and this morning as several areas of Worcestershire became flooded.
A car became stranded in floodwater on the A443 near the Elms Hotel, Abberley.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s water rescue teams attended but on that occasion the driver had managed to get out of the vehicle unaided.
Firefighters urged people to avoid the area which had become impassable because of the deluge.
New Street in Upton is also shut.
HWFRS Station Commander John Laight who was out with crews rescuing people and vehicles stuck in floodwater issued a warning to drivers.
“Do not try to drive through deep flowing water!
“There is always another way to get to your destination.”
