Walk your way to a healthier lifestyle in Malvern, Upton and Callow End

A WALK into Fitness programme will get under way next week to help people across Malvern become more active and improve their health, writes Oliver Savidge.

The eight-week programme is designed to help encourage residents to be more social as well as activity suitable for beginners.

People of all ages are welcome to take part.

Malvern Hills District Council’s physical activity and wellbeing officer Rachel Nicholls said: “We are pleased to bring a new walking programme to the residents of Upton-Upon-Severn, Callow End and Malvern.




“These weekly sessions are a great opportunity for building fitness and improving health, all in a sociable setting.”

Professionals in the field (who are UKA qualified Support-Leaders) will lead the 30 to 45-minute sessions.


The Upton one starts this Monday, January 20, at Upton Hill Community Centre with a walk from 9.15am to 10.15am.

Malvern’s begins at the District Council’s base in Avenue Road between 12.45pm to 1.45pm on Tuesday, January 21.

The first stroll in Callow End is from 2pm to 3pm on Wednesday, January 23, at Callow End Village Hall.

The walks are £20 per person for the eight-week programme which is run by the district council.
