DEBUTANT Josh Dickenson picked up five wickets for Barnards Green who picked up a vital 113-run victory over Wellington in Birmingham League Division One.

The North End Lane hosts opted to bat after winning the toss but were quickly reduced to 48-4.

However, a fifth wicket partnership of 153 between George Rhodes (99) and Stewart Hepburn (25) pushed the score over the 200 mark before the former was removed.

Phil Harris then crashed 73 as Green set an imposing score of 251-9 from their 55 overs.

In reply 14-year-old Dickenson then helped himself to five wickets for 25 runs from his 7.1-over spell as the Herefordshire visitors were hustled out for 138 in the 47th over.

Rhodes also chipped in with 4-34 while Sam Lloyd (52) top scored for Wellington.

Green travel to Shifnal on Saturday.

OLD ELIZABETHANS remain rooted to the foot of the Division Two table following their crushing 119-run defeat to county rivals Pershore.

Liam Ridings hit 78 in Pershore’s total of 212 at OE’s with Atiq ur-Rehman taking 5-40 for the home side who collapsed to 93 all out.

Taylor Pugh took 4-32 and Luke Dalley 3-16.

OEs, who sit 17 points adrift of safety, entertain Wombourne on Saturday.

WORCESTER NOMADS look to be in deep trouble in Division Three following their 105-run defeat at Sentinel.

Sentinel eased to 289-9 at Albert Road, thanks to 61 from Andy Harrison, 59 from Mal Serplet and 47 from Ed Ashlin.

Patrick O’Driscoll (3-66) and skipper Ben Schiffmann (3-91) were the pick of the bowlers for Nomads.

And Schiffman seems determined to go down fighting, as he top scored with 45 as the visitors were bowled out for 184 as Sentinel’s Gary Williams claimed five wickets for 29 runs.

Second–from-bottom Nomads entertain Astwood Bank on Saturday.
