KEMPSEY pulled off a fine run chase with one ball to spare to walk away with a three-wicket victory over Bredon in Worcestershire County League Division Two.
Batting first, Bredon amassed a daunting target of 299-7, thanks to some big hitting from Martyn Draper (73), Martin Hill (53) and Cormach Papirnik (65 not out).
Adam Baker (4-63) took the lion’s share of the wickets for Kempsey who reached 300-7 with the penultimate ball of their innings.
Skipper Chris Jones led by example with an unbeaten 82 and was ably supported by Joshua Jones (87), Shoaib Ali (40) and Simon Dorrell (36).
Kempsey travel to Belbroughton on Saturday.
