MALVERN Town extended their West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division unbeaten run to 12 games with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Bilston Town Community on Saturday.

The Hillsiders got off to a blistering start at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium, racing into a 3-0 lead after just 16 minutes.

Josh Hunt opened the scoring after six minutes and Shaun Smith added the second in the 11th minute before Matthew Turner struck home the third.

Ten minutes later it was 4-0 as Turner bagged his second of the game but the visitors reduced their arrears on the stroke of half time through captain Todd Perry.

The only goal after the break came from new signing from Westfields, Carlos Moreira, who made it 5-1 just after the hour mark.

Victory for Malvern keeps them in second, two points behind league leaders Black Country Rangers who have played four games more.

Speaking of new signing Moreira, boss Les Jones said: “He is a quality young player who can play out wide or up front.

“He has got the hunger to succeed and we are absolutely delighted to have him on the books.

“Hopefully he can help us push on in the league.”

Malvern travel to third placed Tividale on Saturday.
