Hunt targeting 35-goal campaign after netting brace in Malvern Town's FA Cup tie at Boldmere

GOALSCORER Joshua Hunt has targeted 35 goals this season after netting twice in Malvern Town’s 2-2 draw with Boldmere St Michaels in the FA Cup extra preliminary round at the weekend.

Hunt opened the scoring against higher-ranked Boldmere after 25 minutes when he was on hand to finish from Harry Clark’s cross.

The Midland League Premier Division outfit levelled eight minutes into the second half through Luke Bottomer before Hunt bagged his and Malvern’s second with 14 minutes remaining after some good work on the right-hand side by Curtis Smith.

However, Rikardo Reid forced the equaliser in the 85th minute with a spectacular 25-yard strike to force a replay at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium tomorrow night (Tuesday).

“The boys were superb,” said Hunt.

“We worked really well as a team and we got our tactics spot-on.

“We were a threat from set-pieces all afternoon and for me personally it was nice to be back in action and score twice.

“Obviously I was disappointed not to take the chance towards the end, but it was a performance full of positives.

“We went there with the mindset to win the game.

“We were bright right from the start and now we’ll see what Tuesday brings.

“Hopefully there’ll be some more FA Cup magic and we can get through into the next round.

“My aim is to get 35 goals this season, so it’s a case of two down, 33 to go.”

Malvern return to West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division action on Saturday when they play host to Dudley Town.
