LEDBURY RFC surrendered top spot as Manor Park condemned the Ross Road side to their first home defeat of the season, winning 8-7 on Saturday.
Paul Rudland and his players were looking to continue their impressive start to the Midlands Three West (South) campaign.
But Ledbury struggled to hit the heights set in their previous games as Manor Park took the lead with a try following a forward drive inside the opening ten minutes.
The hosts managed to settle and they found themselves ahead at the break when Matt Hallett crashed over, which George Bennion converted to move 7-5 in front.
The fly half had the chance to extended his side’s advantage, but he missed the target as Ledbury failed to convert possession into points.
And they were made to pay for it as the Nuneaton side coolly dispatched a penalty, which proved enough to claim a hard fought away win.
Ledbury will hope to return to winning ways when they face Old Wheatleyans at Norman Place Road on Saturday (2.15pm).
