Malvern skipper set to return

MALVERN RFC look set to be boosted by the return of club skipper Ieuan Mustow.

The influential centre has not featured for the Spring Lane outfit since November after going on a paratrooper training course last month.

But head coach Nick Tisdale revealed Mustow was likely to make an appearance on Saturday when Malvern take on Stratford Upon Avon.

“It will be a big boost to have someone like Ieuan back as he is a very good player and captain and is very well respected around the club,” Tisdale said.

“He’s finished all his training now so he is fit and ready which is a real positive and we’re looking forward to seeing him with his boots on.

“I think he will start on the bench, although if we get any other injuries during the week our hand maybe forced to play him from the start.

Number eight Jamie Anderson, who twisted his ankle in the pre-match warm up last Saturday, and Nick Miller, who is set to have a scan on his injured knee this week could also feature against Stratford.

But Tisdale said he was unlikely to see player-coach Alan Keylock return until the end of the month after breaking a bone in his foot before the Christmas break, while James Hynes remains sidelined due to a back injury.
